Affectionate name for the town that straddles Westmeath and Roscommon.
Lads are we goin' skullin' a few pints tonight down in Arselone. I hear the girleens down there are fine looking yokes!
Fellows, shall we partake in several pints this evening in Athlone, as I understand the young ladies there are rather attractive specimens.
