Header

n.

Heard in Sligo, Offaly and Cork

An affectionate term for someone that's a little bit mental or that acts on a whim. Probably an abbreviated version of "head-the-ball."

In use

He's a wee header so he is! He's always fighting with his dolly outside the Four Lights (referring to a famous chipper in Sligo).

Posh English

He is a rather eccentric fellow so he is, constantly brawling with his young lady outside the purveyor of fried fish.
