Full of holes or pellets, as in being thoroughly riddled with shot.
Dat pheasent was riddled wid pellets an ya might as well be tryin' ta chaw a box a catridges altogether.
That pheasant was thoroughly perforated with shot, and one might just as well attempt to masticate an entire box of cartridges.
