Heard in Waterford, Cork and Kildare
When two or more parties engage in a battle of insults (also known as giving abuse). Generally these are of a friendly nature, however when one can give abuse but not take it these slagging matches often end with someone getting a baytin.
I had a slagging match with Mickey the other night and he couldn't handle the abuse boi! He got tick with me when I said his father rode his mother!
I engaged in a battle of insults with Mickey the other evening and he simply could not stomach the abuse, old chap. He grew rather testy when I suggested his father had carnal knowledge of his mother!
